About Us - History

Phillips Tax Service was founded in 1974 by Pat Phillips. The company was operated as a family business with Pat's husband "Whitey" also working there during the busy tax seasons.

Their daughter Peg graduated from the University of Illinois with high honors in accounting and passed the CPA exam in 1989. She was employed by Arthur Anderson for several years until moving back to Pekin to join her family's business.

Pat's philosophy of diligence, integrity and compassion has become the motto of Phillips Tax Service.
